Donation policy

This page sets out what happens when you give to Stichting Globe International Piano Foundation — the Globe International Piano Concours (GIPC) — how to stop a Friend subscription, and when we will refund a gift. You can make a donation on our donation page.

Who receives your gift

Stichting Globe International Piano Foundation, a foundation registered in the Netherlands with ANBI status, RSIN 869595611. Our bank account is NL61 ABNA 0155 9689 63, held in the name of GIP Foundation. You can write to us at any time at globeipc@gmail.com.

What your donation pays for

Donations fund the competition and the year of development that follows it: studio and venue hire, masterclasses with professional pianists, the concert series, the summer and winter school, recordings, and the prize money that helps a young pianist continue studying. Our board and supervisory council are unpaid. Donations are never earmarked for an individual participant.

How you can pay

Online donations are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, which accepts iDEAL, credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay. We never see or store your card or bank credentials. You can also transfer any amount directly to the account above, or set up a standing order with your own bank.

Stripe emails you a receipt for every online payment. If you need a separate confirmation for your records or your tax return, ask us and we will send one.

Friend subscriptions

When you become a Friend, the first payment is made with iDEAL or your card, and this authorises us to collect the same amount once a year afterwards, on the anniversary of that first payment. It continues until you stop it, and we will tell you in advance if the amount ever has to change.

You can stop at any time by emailing globeipc@gmail.com. Let us know at least three working days before the next collection and we will cancel it in time; we confirm every cancellation in writing. You can also instruct your own bank to reverse a direct debit within eight weeks of it being taken, without giving a reason.

Refunds

A gift is voluntary, so as a rule we do not refund donations — the money is usually committed to a season already under way. We do refund a payment made in error, and we do it without argument: if you gave the wrong amount, paid twice, or the payment was not authorised by you, tell us within fourteen days and we will return it in full to the account you paid from, normally within five working days.

If something has gone wrong outside that window, write to us anyway and explain. We would far rather sort it out with you directly than have you dispute the payment with your bank.

Tax

GIPC holds ANBI status, so we pay no gift tax on your donation and your gift may be deductible in your income tax return. A one-off gift counts above a threshold of 1% of your income, with a minimum of € 60; a periodic gift, set down in a five-year agreement, is deductible from the first euro. The donation page explains how to arrange one, and the ANBI page carries our published details.

Questions or complaints

Email globeipc@gmail.com and a board member will reply. How we handle the personal data involved in a donation is described in our privacy statement.
